Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,
considers the work of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the
Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation,
the eighth sitting of which concluded in Moscow
as efficient, systemic and productive.
According to Oleksandr Lavrynovych, the Ukrainian part of the Commission included representatives of all parliamentary Factions. Ukrainian delegation had a consolidated position and a principled approach to the crucial issues of the agenda.
The participants of the meeting dwelled upon the status and further development of inter-regional and transfrontier cooperation. The participants deem important to hold regular official meetings of Ukrainian and Russian legislators in order to improve, synchronize and coordinate legislative bases of inter-regional and transfrontier cooperation.
According to Oleksandr Lavrynovych, the participants of the meeting resolved to set up a working group of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission in charge of development of Ukrainian-Russian transfrontier cooperation in order to enhance legal regulation of relations between the countries.
Moreover, the attendants of the sitting also discussed the methods to enhance legal and contractual base of Ukrainian-Russian relations in the humanitarian sector.
